Transportation - Eligibility
New Jersey Statutes 18A:39-1 sets the guidelines for student transportation. It states that elementary school students (grades K to 8) who live beyond 2 miles from their school of attendance and secondary school students (grades 9 to 12) who live beyond 2-1/2 miles from their school of attendance are entitled to transportation. The guideline further states that the Board of Education may adopt lesser distances.
