Transportation - To Non-Public Schools
Monroe Township provides transportation to the following non-public schools:
- Paul VI
- St. Joseph High School, Hammonton
- St. Mary School, Williamstown
- Victory Christian School, Williamstown
On occasion we are able to arrange transportation through Gloucester County Special Services School District or directly with a nearby school district through a joint agreement.
If the district does not provide transportation, we are obligated to pay the parent/guardian the State mandated amount for their private transportation arrangements. In addition the following criteria must be met in order to be eligible for aid in lieu of transportation:
- The school must be a non-profit school.
- The distance from home to school must not exceed:
-30 miles (2008-2009)
-20 miles (2009-2010)
The distance is measured from the curb in front of the student's residence via the shortest route along public roadways or walkways to the nearest public entrance to the school the student attends.
- In accordance with N.J.A.C. 6A:27-2.5, parents of private school students must submit a B6T (Application for Private School Transportation) to the private school by March 10th. The private school must forward the B6T to the district Transportation Office by March 15th. If the application is received after the opening of the school year, eligible students will receive aid in lieu of transportation based on the date the application is received by the public school district.
