A Little Magic, and a Message Worth Keeping

Posted Date: 10/07/26 (04:15 PM)

Oak Knoll third and fourth graders had a little extra magic in their school day yesterday!

Nationally recognized illusionist Tom Coverly visited for an assembly organized by The Youth Alliance, mixing illusions and audience participation with a positive message for students about how each of them can be a hero to others.

Students Julianna and Logan got to take part in the program, and Mr. John Ford was pulled into the fun after the audience nominated him as the “strongest” teacher in the auditorium. He was a great sport and helped make one of the tricks especially memorable for the students.

The magic kept everyone engaged, but the message was just as important. Coverly reminded students that being a hero is not only about something big or dramatic. It can also be about the way we show up for other people.

Thank you to The Youth Alliance for bringing the program to Oak Knoll and to everyone who helped make the assembly possible. It was a fun morning for our third and fourth graders, with a message worth carrying with them after the show was over.
