The Curriculum Department strives to ensure that all students are challenged and find success while engaging in a rigorous, research-based educational program that will prepare them for a healthy, productive life in 21st-century society. Our curriculum is fully aligned with the New Jersey Student Learning Standards. The curriculum is a living document that evolves in response to student and societal needs. Embedded with authentic real-world experiences that require communication, collaboration, and critical thinking, our course offerings foster skills and attitudes that students need to be ready for college and career.
Led by the Director of Curriculum, the Curriculum Department is comprised of seven supervisors who have a bird’s-eye view of the district. Through collaboration with building administrators, the supervisors ensure that our programs are consistently implemented and effectively build from year to year. They supervise and support teachers on a daily basis and provide meaningful professional development opportunities to keep the staff current on educational best practices. In addition to planning district-wide professional development, the Curriculum Office supports teachers new to the profession through the district’s induction program.
