Dr. Brian J. McBride, Acting Superintendent of Schools
Dear Monroe Township Public Schools Community,
I am introducing myself as the Acting Superintendent for Monroe Township Public Schools. The opportunity to serve our school community is exciting, and I am honored to be a member of this dynamic team. I was hired in August 2023 by the Board of Education as Assistant Superintendent and appointed in December as Acting Superintendent, effective January 1, 2024. I remain very grateful for the support I am receiving from the school community during this time of transition. As a resident of Monroe Township for over 21 years and a parent whose children attended and graduated from Monroe Township Public Schools, I know first-hand how amazing this community is and the exceptional opportunities it provides for every student. Our school community has so much potential, and I look forward to collaborating with you as we build upon the excellence that defines MTPS!
My professional background is diverse. I have a BA in Political Science from Stockton University, an MA in Executive Educational Leadership, Management, and Policy from Seton Hall University, and an Educational Doctorate in Organizational Leadership from Stockton University. Additionally, I am a military Veteran, having served in the United States Air Force.
As an educator for the past 22 years, I have worked in New Jersey public schools as a teacher, director, principal, assistant superintendent, and superintendent. From 2005 to 2008, I was a history teacher at Williamstown High School, and I departed the district to pursue my first school administrator position at Salem County Vocational Technical Schools. My district leadership experience includes 13 years as a superintendent, with the last 11 of those years leading the Palmyra School District in Burlington County. I am very proud to share that just before my departure from Palmyra, the New Jersey Department of Education recognized the district as a 2023 Lighthouse District.
Please know that I am committed to enhancing the culture of our school community through partnership, transparency, and trust. I remain accessible and welcome you to reach out with any questions, concerns, and comments you may have about our schools.
Thank you for this opportunity to serve our school community, and I look forward to partnering with you in 2024. I wish you a healthy and happy New Year!
Most Sincerely,
Dr. Brian J. McBride
Acting Superintendent of Schools
